If your code looks like a sideways pyramid because of nested if statements, try the 'Early Return' pattern. Instead of wrapping your entire logic in a giant conditional, check for the error or 'fail' cases first and return immediately. This keeps your main logic at the lowest level of indentation, making the 'happy path' much easier to read and follow. Your future self will thank you when they aren't hunting for a missing closing brace!
