Supercharge Editing with Multi-Cursors
February 21, 2026
If you aren't using multi-cursors in VS Code, you're missing out on a serious productivity boost. Try hitting Alt + Click (or Option + Click on Mac) to place cursors in multiple spots at once. It’s perfect for renaming several variables that don't quite fit a global find-and-replace, or for wrapping a list of items in quotes simultaneously.
For even faster editing, Ctrl + D (or Cmd + D) selects the next occurrence of the word your cursor is on, letting you batch-edit specific instances in seconds. Once you get the muscle memory down, you'll find yourself reaching for these shortcuts constantly to handle repetitive formatting tasks.
