Stop Typing the Same Thing Twice

March 30, 2026

If you aren't using multi-cursors in VS Code yet, you're missing out on some serious speed. By holding Alt (or Option on Mac) and clicking in different spots, you can type in multiple places simultaneously. Even better, try Ctrl+D (or Cmd+D) to select the next occurrence of the word your cursor is on. It’s a lifesaver for quickly renaming variables or wrapping a list of strings in quotes without needing a complex regex search-and-replace.
