Speed Up with Multi-Cursors

May 7, 2026

If you aren't using multi-cursor editing in VS Code yet, you’re missing out on some serious productivity. By holding Alt (or Option on Mac) and clicking, you can place cursors in multiple spots simultaneously. Even better, use Ctrl+D (or Cmd+D) to select the next occurrence of the word you're currently on. It turns tedious repetitive renaming tasks or list formatting into a five-second job without the need for complex find-and-replace regex.
